It can be if all code requirements are met. You will lose all or part of the window depending on your particular situation. It sounds like you want to vent outside the easiest possible way. Without knowing all the details of your situation I can't tell you exactly how. A type of venting called Z-vent made from stainless steel probably can be used. Click on this link:

and browse around for more info and ideas. It is fairly expensive but is designed to be used in weather exposed areas. Most importantly, check with your local inspection office for required installation and clearances to combustibles. Most of it is based on the type of furnace you have. They may have literature on hand to guide you easily thru it.
BE SAFE and Good Luck!

If I knew what kind of furnace you had, I could answer more specifically. You need to go according to the manufacturer's instructions. As far as local codes go, they tell you that too. In fact in my area, the building inspectors require that you leave the book on the job after the furnace is installed. They read the book to make sure it was done according to manufacturer's instructions. The instructions will tell you things like how you can vent it, how long the run may be and how many elbows, clearance from combustible materials, what kind of materials to use and how to terminate it.

No, The exhaust from the burner has to go throught a special pipe (B-Vent) through the roof
And it has to pass through any burnable material by a certain
distance, Check with your city rules on this.
