It certainly is for me, I wish it also was for others. It's not an excuse though for lack of common sense or disregard for others.

As long as you're not ignorant by choice. But not wanting to do anything about being ingnorant is the biggest act of ignorance.
The problem is people are so cold they don't dare stop to teach anything to anyone. So they will tell you it isn't. But when they're caught being ignorant they will look back and realize how pathetic their righteous existence was.
Accepting that one was ignorant, and wanting to learn from it is one thing, but using it as an excuse will not fly with most people all the time.

its the best excuse. how can you be held at fault for doing wrong if you dont know any better. and as far as the law goes, have you seen how thick the law books are? i know quite a few cops that dont even know all the laws.
