Please hold off telling as long as you can. If you don't feel capable of keeping and raising this child, there are so many wonderful families that you could give an incredible gift to. When you do (finally) tell, discuss these options with your family. Stand firm that killing your baby isn't an option. You have the ultimate say in that. Please eat healthy and take care of yourself (and the baby). You may give birth to the person that cures cancer or something else very important. May God bless you for doing the right thing.

Surprisingly so, an abortion procedure can be performed up to at least 28 weeks, which is the seventh (7th) month of pregnancy.
Here are a list of types of abortions:
--Abortions performed 1-2 weeks following conception: Mentrual Extraction Terminations;
--Abortions performed prior to 7 weeks of pregnancy(not including the 1-2 weeks following conception): Surgically (a procedure) or medically (with drugs);
--Abortions performed from 9 weeks until 14 weeks of pregnancy: Dilatation & Suction Curettage procedure (usually completed with a vacuum device);
--Abortions performed after 14 weeks of pregnancy: Dilatation & Evacuation Procedure; and
**Abortions performed after 20 weeks of pregnancy(Partial Birth Abortions): Labor induction, Prostaglandin Labor Induction, Saline Infusion, Hysterotomy, Dilatation & Extraction;
Most abortions can be performed in an outpatient office setting under local anesthesia or without sedation. Sedation is optional in most cases.
EXPERIENCE:
>>I've experienced a similar decision making, and may I say this: Having a child changes EVERYTHING. When sex is initiated, everyone must take in the possibility of conception. Responsibility is the key!!! I am now a mother, and even though I'm young with children, I appreciate every minute of it. I can't imagine life without them. Money is also an issue. Your week count dictates how much you pay. Once you become 20 weeks, it's very hard to get rid of the moving fetus inside of you. It's an emotional thing. **I also hid 1 of my pregnancies for 28 weeks...**
My plee to anyone with abortion consideration: "Give the baby a chance!!!" This is a decision that will forever live with you whether you choose to keep the baby or to lose the baby.
My advice: PRO-LIFE!!! Give the baby a chance!!!

The answer is 24 weeks. In some states, you do not need parental consent.
In some states, you can get an abortion beyond 24 weeks if your baby is diagnosed with an anomaly that is incompatible with life, or if your life is in danger. Kansas and I think New York are good states for this. I would not recommend going beyond 1st trimester, because the procedure is much more difficult. If you get one, you will want a simple D&C or vacuum aspiration.
Good luck, but please make your decision soon for your own well-being. Don't wait until May if you can help it.

In some cases based on the development of the fetus and the health of the mother it can be as many as 24 weeks but that is rare. Most doctors will not do it on a fetus if it is more the 13-15 weeks along.. Also as a side note.I understand what you are going through because it happened to me. Think to yourself if it is fare to bring a baby into this world right now one who didnt choose to be concived and one who cannot help themselves. Wold it be fair to bring a baby into a world of uncertainty unless of course the father and you make legal arrangments and all and you have the finicial aid needed to bring a baby into the world

This depends on the state you live in! Each state has it's own laws governing abortions. In my state you can have an abortion any time, any reason up to the 24th week. In some states, it is until "viability", usually described as the 20th week, and in others up to the day you deliver, so called partial-birth abortions. Find out your states laws by contacting Planned Parenthood at www.plannedparenthood.org.

In most states the limit to get an abortion is 16 weeks but there are some states that perform them up to 24 weeks.
You can read more at http://www.abortion.com
It is up to you as to what you want. No one can force you to do anything you do not want to do. Good luck

A baby can survive outside the womb as young as 22 weeks. There was a big story about it last month.
So, after that time, the baby is a viable life of his/her own... you're just giving him/her the benefit of the safest and healthiest enviroment after that... get thru your first trimester before you tell.
heres where I saw the story...

I dont really know where you are coming from in the sense that i would never get one.
But i had a best friend that missed her period and she was for sure pregnant. It was our senior year of high school and she was going to a totally different college then her boyfriend which she is still with today. But she got one. She said to this day it still haunts her. she thinks about WHAT iF. what if i kept. She got it done at 5 weeks.
If you want to get it done then by all means you have to follow your heart no one else can tell you what to do. there are so many woman out there that would get mad at you for wanting one just because its so hard for other to even get pregnant. I'm going through that myself right now.
I'm not one to judge but if you want one then do it but if your heart is telling you NO then dont do it. you are then one that has to live with your actions.
Good luck sweetie and i hope everything works out with you and your decision.

I'm not sure the longest you can go, but you should contact your local Planned Parent Hood for that info. And I would just hold off telling her as long as possible... I guess until you start showing and can't hide it anymore... Good luck
