I'm wanting to go to school but I don't know where to start. Do I have to take the SAT or ACT or any other test? I have been out of high school for 10 years now and am totally clueless on what to do.

What you should do is go start out at a community college for two years and collect your 60 units. That way, you won't have to take the SAT when you transfer over to a university. Talk with a counselor there, too.

I highly doubt it. The SAT and ACT are mainly for high schoolers going straight to 4 year colleges. I am transferring from a junior college to a 4 year university, and never had to take any of those tests. I would recommend looking into your local community college. They're cheap, and can help your GE requirements for whatever major you plan to get out of the way, then you can transfer to a 4 year university.

No - the bad news is they want your money at your age.
At a given point, cash customers get into classes.
I went back for a B.S. in my late 40's. All they wanted was the check to clear and that I had my pre-regs done for (all my credits for my A.S.) some I had to redo as they expires after that many years. Some of my old classes no longer existed in the school tech field.

Above was right - go to a Comm College annd have a chat with them. It is free and it is better to get your base courses (100's and some 200's done) at the CC price then a 4 year school.

Go see a counselor at your local community college for academic guidance. They will know exactly what you need to do.

Also, if you want to start with community college then you only need to be old enough to go and have the few dollars for tuition that it costs and be a resident of the state. This is how it works in California.

You will qualify for transfer to a 4 year based on your courses and performance at the community college.

at my school ( a community college) we have a test you can take as a replacement for the SAT but it's only good at our school so I'd call your school and ask if they have something like that... I think it's called a compass test :o) GL
