hi im 31 weeks pregnant and I already posted this question once, but only one person answered it so I thought id give it another go. Last night, my boyfriend and I had sex doggystyle since im getting too big to do it regular, it it was pretty hard. It was hurting me pretty bad. But i didnt want to tell him to stop, although I know he wouldt of cared. I would of felt bad. Anyways, afterwards, from about 4:40 - 7:30am, I had aweful, aweful contractions! but m baby was still moving, so i tried not to be too concerned. they were really close though, like 2 min apart at times. And I had just been to the hosp the night before with a UTI so I didnt want to go again. I heard of having braxton hicks, but would they hurt this bad? I mean, it was terrible.

oh u sound just like me... the same thing happened to me but yes its the Braxton Hicks Contractions getting you ready for the real contractions in labor, but if it hurts so bad after sex your gonna have to tell your bf to stop doing it so hard or sumthing can happen to the baby thats why i stopped.

I have had 5 children and have had the braxton hicks so bad that I did go to the hospital, an hour later the contractions stopped. If you put your body through alot of stress, and raise your blood pressure it can instigate the braxton hicks contractions. My advice to you is to let your pregnancy run its course and do not, I repeat DO NOT let your boyfriend do that again. If the baby was still moving then that is a good sign. The little one was probably upset from what was going on. ( most of them do not like being hit in the head while in the womb.) If it starts again, I would either go the ER or call your doctor to see if he thinks that it is normal.

You need to let your uti clear up.
Sounds like you really caused aggravation to your urethra. And that made the Braxton hicks stronger. Now i am only a Doula , so i would call your doctor or head into the ER if they become close and strong and 2 minutes apart again. Even if there 10 minutes apart and regular really.

And yes my Braxton Hicks were nasty. So nasty I got sick. After I was in true labor I reflected back , The braxton Hicks were as strong as my active labor contractions felt. ( least to me, everyone is so different.)

It sounds like something else to me sorry to say. You may have an infection or something. I am saying this because a baby doesn't move when you are having contractions. Your uterus actually tightens around them preventing them from moving.
Braxton Hicks can hurt I have been having them for awhile. They are real contractions the difference being they are not regular. Mine started around 32 weeks and I had to go to the hospital to get checked. They said I was probably dehydrated and that this can make BH"S worse.
You need to get to your doctor to figure out exactly what is going on. If you meant your baby was moving after the contractions, then my guess is they are just BH'S but seriously get checked.
