this is reality:
singapore has high turn over for new phones. People switch to new phones all the time by trading in the old ones. (be it 1 week old/1 mth old/2yr old etc)
These used phones were then sold to agents in Malaysia for Malaysian market (must be the AP phones Myra was talking about). They enter Malaysia by truckload via the causeway. The agents changed the cover and fix whatever need to be fix, then sell it to the consumer. That was why it doesnt come with original nokia warranty. AP phones are being sold cheaper by merely few hundred ringgits.
If i were u, i will buy it in Singapore. Visit Bugis Junction and u will see plenty of shop selling mobile phones there.
*** But recently i found a phone shop in Shah Alam selling latest mobile phones at a cheap bargain. Head to Plaza Masalam in Shah Alam, proceed to the lower ground. U will see theres plenty of game kiosk. Next to it, there are a few mobile phone kiosk there. One of the kiosk is run by a young chinese owner - Alex and his young wife. His kiosk is in between the game kiosk and the other mobile kiosk. His price is the lowest i have seen so far. By the way, Plaza Masalam is next to Shah Alam Concorde sect. 9.

Guess you may be able to find a wider variety of electronics and digital tech products in Singapore. Prices may be slightly cheaper in Singapore, but it may not be enough to cover the cost of your travel to and from KL.
Good places to get such products would be Sim Lim Square and Mustafa Centre. Alternatively, you can try more established shops like Harvey Norman and Best Denki as well.

What is your CHEAP? ...Below $100 or below $50, for a room or for a person (B/B style) as in Europe. For cheap & cheapest hotel or motel, get the best info from the taxi driver in S'pore not in KL pls...you will be cut.

yep, truly agree with others..in KL, the best place to get all your eletronic gadgets will be in Low yat plaza in Bukit Bintang..the building is located behind BB plaza and sungei wang plaza and also next to Federal Hotel..always bargain to your desired price and always make sure the authenticity of the items as there are two different types of each item..for example..if you want to buy a mobile phone..then ask them whether is it an ORIGINAL version ( normal original price) or AP version ( cheaper bargain price ).
Original version will comes with the Manufacturer's warranty while the AP version will only comes with the reseller's warranty. To understand this..simple.. if let say you buy a NOKIA's AP version phone..if in future the phone is malfuntion properly..you cant get the NOKIA own centre to fix it..you need to go and ask the person who sold you the phone and get the fellar to fix it for you...
Happy shopping!

for electronic items ..go to simlim square (near bugis mrt station ,singapore)...for mobile prices..u can go to this website to view the general prices of mobiles in singapore... www.mobilesquare.com.sg
generally, electronic items and mobile phones in singapore is cheaper as imported gds here arent being tax as much as in malaysia. the same goes for branded items such as gucci ,chanel ,louis vuitton, etc.
but... u think is worthy to travel all the way to singapore to buy it?? well...unless u have some do here as well...(spore v boring n small..nothin much...haha)

i dont know where you can purchase these items for good price. but i gotta advise you that it isnt a good idea for you purchase them from spore. My sister bought her mobilephone from spore and she has trouble activating her GPRS. My uncle bought his stereo from spore, 2 months later he made 2 trips to spore for some problems he had with the stereo. just spend extra and get them from kl. The prices wouldnt vary much.
