All these obstacles can be overcome, a dog can be a life long companion and a best friend. Things can prevent these obstacles. For example: get your dog fixed, get her immunized to protect from getting sick, don't over feed. And forgetting to feed her? This shouldn't be a problem, you should automatically know that that's your baby and you need to take the utmost care of her. Good luck :)

They are a lot of responsibility! They need care and attention. I have two cats and its just not the same anymore. I have to think of who's going to take care of them when I want to go on a vacation (pet hotels=$$$ or friend= hope they are responsible and $ ), food is $$$ and making sure they get feed is another deal. Smelly cat litter! Hair everywhere! I can go on and on. The vet bill, worrying about them getting out of the house and them getting hurt.

Make sure you're ready to have pets because in the end they will suffer if you're not.

Don't get me wrong, I love my kitties.... who can resist their cute little faces and they little meows and purrs <3333.... They are just a lot of work!

might forget to feed it
if your dog is 1 year or older you can feed it only once a day
might have babies
spay and neuter your pets unless your breeding them
eats too much
only a 1or 2 times a day feeding
might get sick
thats why never feed your dog table scraps unless you know its safe.
AND THE BIGGEST PROBLEM OF THEM ALL
PET ACCIDENTS! that was my biggest problem

vet fees
grooming
pet items
the budget you have to spend
(i had spent over 10 hundred dollars on my little chihuahua)

Vets can be very expensive and with a pet you can't just pick up and leave home (visiting, vacationing, etc.) anytime you feel like it. They are a responsibility just like a child.
For most pet owners these things are relatively a small sacrifice for the "unconditional love" a pet gives us.

I don't agree with any of your reasons. Those are the exact reasons why I DO want a pet (except for the "sick" part) I'd just deal with that.

But I still have some for you -

I'm afraid my dog will bite someone who treats it badly, and we will get sued needlessly.

I'm scared my bird might fly away. I'd be heart broken.

I'm afraid any of my animals will die one day.

-not have enough time to play with it
-losing your pet
-cost of health care
-psychological effect on kids if the pet dies
-urine and feces
-might destroy furniture
-the amount of cleaning and maintanence involved
-cost of food
-training to use a bathroom area
-time for training

Remember, the bigger the pet the more significant the problems will be

Pets make it more difficult to travel.
Pets can cost quite a bit to take proper care of.
Pets don't live as long as people, so you have to deal with their death.

But....they are still worth it.

I just got a new chihuahua on Friday...I cant keep my eyes off of him.. You need to pay for shots, neuter/spay, etc.

If you cannot care for what you listed above, you shouldn't own an animal.
