God, that was some answer you got......what don't you tell her to go hug a tree while she is at it.....not everyone can breastfeed, for many different reasons, and that last thing most mothers want to hear is that they are going to ruin thier baby because if it.
Anyway, did you get an answer to your question? I had my oldest two children in Australia and used S26 Gold, because of the lipils and DHA that it has in it.....those are the proteins that are in breastmilk and help in brain development. I breastfed both, but for health reasons I had to change to formula and that is what I used.
Congratulations on your healthy baby.

OMG, I just went and looked at your last question and saw that answer. That was way over the top.
I actually saw your question the first time you posted and tried to find something online about the differences between the two. I live in the US so we don't have that brand here. But I would say that if you've looked at the ingredient list of both and they're the same except for price, go for the less expensive of the two.
I too fall into the category of medically unable to breastfeed women (a breast reduction surgery about 10 years ago severed my milk ducts). An answer like that is just kicking us when we're already down in my opinion.

its true that the breast is best for baby but someone don't want to or cant breast feed. you get some of what i call the la leche league Nazis on here that drive me bonkers! If you don't want to breastfeed formula is fine and babies have been surviving off of it for a while now! i breast fed my daughter for 4 months then lost my milk and she had to have formula! I'm pregnant with my second child and i plan on breastfeeding him but if it doesn't work out well i will formula feed! good luck and you can im me about your formula question if you would like!

if you still need help choosing formula try this:
CHOOSING FORMULA
When it comes to infant formula, parents need to know a few simple facts:
Be sure to choose a DHA-enriched formula. Most, if not all of the US formula companies will offer AA/DHA-enriched formulas. For information about the brain-building benefits of DHA click on www.Store.Martek.com.
There are some subtle differences among the major brands of infant formulas which may affect how your baby tolerates one formula over another. Reading the labels may leave you feeling like you need a Ph.D in biochemistry to make an intelligent decision. We want to help you with an analysis of the big three nutrients: proteins, fats, and carbohydrates. The vitamins and minerals in all formulas are similar, since these are governed by strict regulations, however, the nutritional fine points of the fats, carbohydrates, and proteins differ from one brand to another, as the marketing departments of each company are very willing to point out, especially to pediatricians.

OK I have to admit I am a breastfeeding fanatic.. I did not have an easy time as was suggested by someone on here.
We are just elated to share what a wonderful experience breastfeeding is that we can't contain ourselves.
To the mother that attacked La Leche League.
Please do not Lump all La Leche League members in one catagory. They are not all bad. Of course you get some people that give you a bad impression in every organization. That does not mean that you need to discount all people of a particular group.
That is kinda like profiling. hmmmm...
La Leche League Leaders are just mothers that are passionate about helping other mothers be successful breastfeeding. MY theory is that sometimes when your gold standard of excellence is set so high you have a hard time seeing that someone elses standard of excellence is not the same as yours and yes you may continue trying to help when it is not wanted. Everyone has personality flaws.
Lets all live together happliy on Yahoo answers and help each other out.

Breast feeding is only the best if the person doing the feeding wants to be doing it. I bottle fed both of my daughters and they are as healthy as can be. Some people just have an old fashioned mind set. The formula they make these days are phenomenal! They are basically like breast milk. I agree that it is annoying to hear that over and over again, and I did hear it when I bottle fed, but do what you are comfortable with doing!

I live in Australia and used S26 Gold. Don't what the difference was but I was only comp feeding.
People like Andy S are stupid. I wonder what they would do productively if they used their time sensibly. You need to do what suits you! And of course your baby.
I fed for ten months and now that I have weaned am loving having my body back. I had difficulty in the start but had a very supportive husband. It is crap about losing weight when you feed. I put weight on and am still carrying it. I had to eat higher calories to produce the milk. When I tried to eat sensibly my daughter wouldn't put as much weight on. And so was constantly told to eat the foods that weren't helping me but were helping my daughter.
Enjoy your baby and forget about th BF NAZIS!!!!!!

I breastfeed but I dont press the issue. But I usually tell people to use Nestle Goodstart with Dha and Ara it is the best, I do understand what your sayin breastfeeding is not for everyone it takes up all my time i have to pull up my shirt when she gets hungry and it hurts like hell, even on my second child. Its just cheeper and I am a stay at home mom so i have the time to do so.

I will agree that Andy S went more than overboard. I do not know why some people find it in them to be so rude, just take ti as he knows nothing except what he reads in a book and move on. His opinion and those of the rest of us do not really matter. It only matters that you find the answer to the question you are asking. I am now going to post to the other question.
