I took some pictures of it, hopefully they are clear enough. I found it in my bathroom last night. The bathroom is in my basement. I'm not sure what kind of bug this is and I was hoping someone could tell me! Thank you.

that's a house centipede (in the genus Scutigera, which sounds superbly apt!). They are freaky-looking but completely harmless. They eat small insect pests so are good house mates.

Yeah, it's a house centipede. We call them "furries". Really gross, huh? How big are the ones that you have? We usually suck them up the vacuum cleaner (my family is terrified of anything with more than 4 legs), but some are too big to be influenced by the suction. They get the shoe treatment.
Oh yeah, and they love clutter, so if you don't really want them around, just pick up laundry that's laying on the floor or piles of shoes or whatever in closets. They like hiding in the gap between carpeting and the wall, so they may hide there most of the time.

If this is a beetle, it's on the whole a potato beetle. They are rather ordinary in America and feature particular darkish and light brown stripes stripes. If you understand what variety of malicious program it's, what state or nation it's in, or some other expertise I could also be competent to aid extra.
