I've had 3 of them & they didn't hurt really. It wasn't bad like everyone had told me it would be. People had me scared to death of it with their stories. Just relax & do what they tell you to do & it will be done fast.

Epidurals don't hurt at all. You are given a local before the epidural catheter is placed. If anything hurts at all, the local may sting a little bit.

I had to have a saddle block once for knee surgery. I never felt a thing.

Not very painful at all. I had a similar procedure, a spinal, for my c-section and it stung a bit, but not even equivalent to a wasp sting (which I just had a couple of days ago, OUCH!)

You'll be fine. The techniques to relieve the pain of childbirth today are wonderful and work!!!

the injection of epidural was like any other injections. butat the ward that i was in all the ladies that took epidural caused all thier baby to be distressed and all had emergency c-section,including me.plus the months of back aches that followed wasn't worth it.

Just like a pin prick, I have had four, and am very grateful for epidurals.

Well, My wife and I have two boys. She got the shot both times. According to her the labor pains are so bad you don't even notice the shot. Just the relief of excruciating pain!!!!

So..... Good Luck!!!

It doesn't hurt very much at all. It's more scary than painful! And if you're already in labor, you'll be looking forward to it with joy.

The initial stick feels like a pin prick. But they will numb your skin before they stick you.
