no they wouldnt be good pets ? plus i think you cant have one for a pet cause you must need to have a law state from youre state to have a proved papers to have a wild animal to be in living youre house . also when youre the baby panda get older and grow big it will crashed everything in youre place and plus wild pandas need a bigger places to run around and play and they need be take care of every day and even had to be feed alot of tree leafs and , they can be wild and diffulty handle with .
if youre girlfriend so in love with panda bears why, you dont you just buy her a fake panda stuffed doll .

Good luck finding one for sale. To answer your question, no they would not make a very good house pet. See exert from website:
During most of the year, pandas communicate by rubbing an acidic-smelling substance, secreted by glands surrounding the ano-genital area, on tree trunks and stones. They also scratch on trees. Each panda's scent is unique and pandas use the scent to identify each other. Females leave scent to attract males, and males leave scent to mark their territory and to attract females.

I think everyone thinks that pandas are cute. But they're wild animals and endangered. How would you get your hands on one? Why not buy her a cute little kitten that has panda markings. They look just like baby panda cubs. She'll love you forever:)

Buy her a cuddly toy, a fully grown Panda would rip you and your girlfriend to pieces. That would be, I'm sure, a very unwelcome surprise.

Only if you have a really big bamboo patch in your garden and want a pet that looks like a bean bag chair but will chew your arm off and costs £3 million. (Unless you have diplomatic relations with China?)

Oh, sure! Surprise her (and the Chinese government as well)! Just make sure you are able to get the 30-40 pounds of bamboo it needs daily.
I also think that you should get her white rhino as well, because she sounds like she deserves it!

Yes. I know this guy who sells them in San Fransico. My panda Ci-Ci is doing just fine. It lives in my backyard with a Dodo bird and Elvis Presley. They get along fine. Make sure you feed it bamboo. Ci-Ci gets confused sometimes and tries to eat live oak. LOL!

Absolutely - in fact, why don't we just make all endangered - and aw heck ALL species - house pets! Elephants, Giraffes, Cheetahs, Gorillas - why we could have our own indoor zoo.
(I'm going to start a website tomorrow for cheetah sales!)
Oh wait....sarcasm doesn't write well does it.

nah, buy her a Kodiak Bear. They like to be hugged.
I hope you're kidding and really not that naive or stupid. A wild animal. And an endangered one at that. Did you think you could pick it up at a pet store?
