Good genes really helps, as for the cocoa nope.
If you have good genes, low weight gain and do not tan, you will be likely to have less.
Me on the other hand. . . my genes for skin are apparently crappy, I gained a ton of weight, and I did sun some. . . this means that my belly looks a lot like a Zebra hide that was mauled by Edward Sizzor-Hands. . . And yes I did use Coco butter and some REALLY expensive Pre and Post Stretch Mark Cream by Medela. I should have saved the money and tossed it into an account for a tummy tuck.

Well, the bigger you get, the greater the stretch marks, just like overweight people get them. It is from the skin basically breaking down at a deep level. Just really be careful about your weight gain right now, you still have nine weeks to go. Since your mom and grandma didn't get them, you have good genes. I personally have terrible genes and had them all over by 6-7 months, I think they may have gotten a little worse as time went on, but I had most of them by then. My last baby was 14 years ago, I can't remember exactly, but just keep doing what you're doing and watch that weight, good luck, stretch marks suck.

My mom didn't get them, neither did my grandma, but I still got lots of them... so, yeah, it should give you a good chance but don't count on it. With my first daughter I got them at around 27 weeks or perhaps a little earlier, they weren't so bad until she was almost a week late and most of them popped up. With the other two, I had so many already I don't think it could get any worse.
Keep using the coco butter and DON'T SCRATCH, no matter what

i didnt get any until 33weeks and used cocoa butter day and night, but I had gotten some way back in puberty that were faded on my hips but that's the first placed they showed up, and I didn't get very big in pregnancy until the end, I am short waisted so around 30weeks was when people finally started seeing I was pregnant then all the sudden people are asking if I'm having twins I am so big, lol, but my doctor says being shortwaisted makes it so the baby has no where to grow but out, so that's why I ended up with them, even though my mom didn't, but since I had them back when I figure I was predispositioned anyways.

Stretch marks are genetic. So since your mom and grandma didn't get them then there is a good chance you won't get them. A lot of women get them towards the beginning of the pregnancy...so I doubt you'll get them. You're one of the lucky ones! Also- since stretch marks are genetic I have read that any cream that you may use to try and prevent them, won't work.

You are probably one of those girls the rest of us envy! I got my stretch marks as soon as the belly started streching (and I didn't get very big. They are usually inherited so where your g-ma didn't get them you might not. I would use some strecth mark cream just to play it safe though!
