There are many excellent free anti-spyware apps available. Free is always he best!

For your Anti-Adware and Anti-Spyware needs...............

Pick and choose at least 2 anti-spywares from the list below and alternate scanning with them on a regular basis. New spywares are created literally hourly, so no single anti-spyware can really detect all malware. Have at least 2 on hand and alternate scanning with each every few days or so. All are free. All can remove as well as detect.

Yahoo! Toolbar with FREE Norton Spyware Scan:

Spybot Search and Destroy:

Ewido:

Adaware SE:

A-Squared:

SUPERAntiSpyware:

Windows Defender:

Unfortunately, many "paid for" anti-spyware products are in fact either of limited usefulness or downright scams. When in doubt, look at the list of rogue anti-spyware solutions listed here:

Only two free anti-spyware come with real time protection, Windows Defender and Spyware Terminator. But if you are looking for one to just scan your computer, then AVG anti-spyware or AdAware or A-Squared Free will be better options.

Most of these have free trials and free scans. But if you really want safe protection I would highly recommend getting the full software. Like 'Kaspersky' or 'Stop Sign' but try to stay away from 'Norton Anti-Virus'. Since it's so popular, more people might try to hack past this than almost anything else. There are plenty more out there but you might not be able to trust some of them so be careful. ( I currently have Kaspersky and it is great! I used to have Stop Sign and that's good too. But Norton gave me a few viruses.)

Lava Softs program named, Ad-Aware and another great computer clean up program is called CrapCleaner or better known as CCleaner. Type in LavaSoft for Ad-Aware in your search engine and CCleaner is locate at www.filehippo.com. Both of these programs are outstanding and recommended by most computer professionals.

Edit update: AVG is an outstanding anti virus program but it is not an Anti-Spyware program. An anti-virus program is going to do you little good if you already have one and you still got pop up adds.

You need to run
ad aware se personal
http://www.lavasoft.com
together with
spybot search and destroy
http://www.spybot.info/en/index.html

If you just run one there are still problems
with these 2 then you'd be pretty much covered

another good program to install as well together with the above mentioned two
is AVG - this is a free anti virus

If you're anything like me when it comes to freeware 1st , you need to take a peek @ a site called www.snapfiles.com I came across this site pretty much doing what you've probably been doing here and thats looking for freeware lol.... lemme know what you think! I don't save too many sites into my favorites list but this one DEFINATELY made the cut for me. If it's free, chances are.. I'm looking for it! Take care and God bless ya'z.:-)

avg is the best you could find on earth for free
i dont exactly know the website but ive found the website really easily on www.ask.com and you just type in avg antivirus
this software will get out any virus on your computer and it always catches them
every time
a little blimp will pop up showing you when you have a virus
but never have more than one antivirus software on you computer because they fight with each other
in small words
