Most non-white people will use the broad term of "white" to identify a European-American person....and I really don't care....I am, however, interested if those people can tell the difference between a WASP versus an Eastern European Slavic person- or something to that effect

I can. I am a people watcher and I love studying human features. There is a difference between Nordic whites, or WASPs as you say verses the Mediterranean verses the Eastern European.
People are under the mistaken assumption that all people in a grouping look alike. All Blacks do not look alike, nor all Asians, nor all Caucasians.
With Caucasians, I often study their hair color initally, because Nordics rarely have very dark hair, that speaks to a more Mediterranean heritage or Eastern European. Then nose shape, height, skin shade and eye color. You can tell if you know what to look for.

Wow, even though I know you are going to experience peoples wrath with this question---I think it is very interesting subject. Maybe by accents you might be able to tell, but since I am not caucasian, I won't be able to answer this question to well........so hopefully one of my fellow Y/A peeps will be oblige to give you a heads up!

NO not REALLY. unless they have a big british accent, or have freakishly red hair then they'd be irish? fLuk i don't know. it's hard i think a lot of people whatever their race is look at another race and say '*** they all look the same' LOL not to be a racist but at least that's what i think of black ppl and white ppl, asians not really 4 sum reason

i will many times tell the version between Western Europeans and eastern Europeans yet no longer plenty from French, Spanish, Italians, Germans, and different guy or woman nationalities.
