We have 6 month old an the problem we are having is getting her to sleep. When she finally falls asleep she only wakes up about 2 times per night. We have tried everything... play with her trying to wear her out, feed her, rock her, etc. Any other suggestions?

we were having a lot of trouble settling our 5 month old up until about a month ago......for us it was just a settling issue as to why he was waking up through the night. Does your baby use a dummy? My son did, now we put him to bed with no dummy and he stays asleep all night until about 6am.
It is quite normal for a baby to have a protest cry, which can last up to about 15 minutes, as they go through about 3 different cycles with it. If they cry anything over that, then go into the room, without picking them up, and try stroking the face and softly patting the back or shoulders to reassure them you are there. This is NOT a controlled crying method.....i do not agree with that at all!
Generally if you feed or rock a baby to sleep, they will certainly wake up duting the night as they have had to rely on something to get them to sleep. It is best to try and teach your baby how to self settle by using the technique in a book called save our sleep by tizzie hall.....this was my saviour! Good luck

Let her cry...we had to do it with our son...you spend a few nights getting no sleep and feeling extremely guilty (ill be honest) BUT the end results are amazing..we can now put our son in his bed wide awake and he will just fall asleep and stay asleep all night. Ask your doctor what they think but ours told us that its perfectly fine to do so. They have to know that once they are in there they need to go to sleep and stay asleep. Otherwise you could be in there every night up to the age of 2 or 3. At 6 months they can go the whole night without feedings and or diaper change so dont feel that that is an issue to worry about. Anyway, i wish you the best of luck!

When my oldest was a few months old the dryer put her right to sleep... A canvas strap wrapped around the dryer to hold the carseat on tight, put her in the car seat and turn on the dryer... She went from screaming and crying to asleep for the night within a few minutes..

(Bonus I did the laundry at the same time)

I don't know many people who have kids that sleep through the night that young. Mine didn't until she was 18 months old, every kid is different. My suggestion is to just go in and soothe her very quickly and put her back down. No singing, rocking, etc. She'll sleep thru the night eventually. Hang in there!

Sound like you've been blessed with a child full of personality. enjoy.

When my 13 year old was a baby he was the same way. In fact he still wont go to sleep when he should. and at times he might have picked up on my frustration which Im sure didn't help. I would lay next to him blowing in his eyes just to make him blink. lol
I can only suggest you keep coaching her energy in the right direction. And nap when she does. but Im sure you know that.
Mine's still a handfull. But a joy to be around

Try a white noise machine. . . or just grab a radio and put it onto a channel that is not coming in . . .
Having the extra noise blocked out the other noises of the house, and I think that it soothed mine into sleeping, also this might be a good thing to add to the routine to help getting to sleep. . just hearing it will trigger sleep. . .
Don't worry about your little one not being able to sleep without it. Mine used it , and still uses it, when she goes to visit with family she does just fine without it.

Is she actually tired when you try to get her to sleep?
If not then leave her be until she is actually tired then you shouldnt have any problems.
If she isnt tired than she isnt going to go to sleep.
Try giving her a nice warm bath and then a maasage. This should help her wind down and relax into sleep. Rather than forcing it on her.
