i own a shop and these are a pain to take apart and repair,i have done a few of them, its the part at the swivel that goes bad or gets loose on them, and its very aggravating,i know my truck was like that for about a year, until i got time to repair it,usually there's nothing to buy just put the 3 screws back in, if all 3 of them have backed out,and if they haven't they will, and then it will get real bad and loose, labor on this one usually cost around 60-75 bucks at most shops, and they,ll need it for the better part of the day,and please don't attempt this your self, you,ll be buying a steering column if you do,good luck i hope this helps.

If there's loose play in the steering, you may have a problem. I don't know if that car has rack and pinon steering, but that might be the issue. Also, it depends on how many miles you have on the car.

It could be something simple but dangerous like the lug nuts on the wheels not tightened properly, or the wheel bearing could need to be replaced or brakes.

If after driving your car for a while the wheel or wheels are hot to the touch, not the tire but the wheel, the wheel bearing could be worn and in need or replacement. That is serious. Some brakes have a sensor and kind of sounds like a ringing but that's heard all the time and not going over bumps. BTW, when you hear the brake doing that it means you need to have your brakes fixed NOW.

I THINK YOU ANSWERED YOUR OWN QUESTION IN AS MUCH AS YOU HEAR AND FEEL SOMETHING. VERY FEW THING ON A VEHICLE ARE AS CRITICAL AS, TIRES, SUSPENSION, BRAKES AND YES STEERING. SHOULD SOMETHING BREAK OR COME LOOSE WHILE YOU ARE DRIVING, YOU WOULD HAVE "NO CONTROL". EVEN APPLYING THE BRAKES COULD CAUSE YOU TO SWERVE INTO A CAR, TREE, OR CHILD!!!! I HOPE THIS SCARES YOU ENOUGH TO STOP DRIVING NOW AND HAVE YOUR CAR TOWED TO A QUALIFIED MECHANIC AS SOON AS YOU READ THIS.
