Do you think that he missed his freethrows at the end purposely, to try and help the Warriors force overtime, so that he could get his 50?

No there wasn't really enough time for a final shot anyway and overtime would have been more likely if he made the free throw which would have left .9 on the clock.

Dear AC916,

i do not think that Kobe missed the free throw on purpose, because there was only .9 seconds left, which means had the warriors tossed in and it miraculously went in- it'd be a three pointer which would have met the Lakers would have lost by a point.

It might have been a smart strategy in that the scramble for a rebound can usually eat up .9 of the clock- had he made it, the Warriors would have been down by three and had a chance to tie it with a miracle three.

i don't think he was interested in the 50 streak... Lamar played a monster game!

Hmmmm...Probably not. It's a win with or without the freethrows. I like to see Kobe get his players to elevate their games already. The games he played where he went over 50pts in 4 games were still kind of close, each under 8pt gaps. And those were teams under .500. Dallas, Phoenix, and Spurs are too deep to get blown away by Kobe. These teams (Golden State, Portland, New Orleans, and Minnesota) that Kobe is humiliating don't have much confidence and kept the games close. We will see! The Laker wins will need to flash more Walton's, Odom's, and Kwame's games so it's not just a one-man-team v/s Dallas, Nuggets, Clippers, Spurs and Phoenix. Even Detroit and Miami. Plus they all have dam good benches.

No, he missed 17 FG's ( what most franchise players with a brain take in an entire game) so he could send it to overtime.

Since that didn't work, he figured he'd turn the ball over 7 times, which didn't work any better, so he decided to miss some free throws at the end, but once again failed to meet his goal.

Oh well, there's always next game.

That thing crossed my mind too. I actually hoped for an overtime so that he earned his 50, BTW did you noticed that the Warriors are purposely trying not to foul Kobe so that he won't get 50?

well i dont think he missed it on purpose but even if he did it was because there was like .9 on the clock which means that if he misses more time would run off before the warriors can call a timeout which is what he did.

No I don't think so I actually think Kobe is relieved that his streak is over. As long as he did something Jordan didn't do. Odom was having a good game so Kobe didn't have to force anything.

Kobe wants to make the playoffs far more than he wants another 50 point game. So the answer is no.

I was waiting for this stupid @ss question to pop up...if he wanted to go to OT he would have made it the free throw, because the Warriors only had enough time for a three that would have tied it.

NO i dont think he is that selfish. If he wanted to he will go on another streak this upcoming week. He is that great. but all that matters is that they got the W.
