if the freezer isn't freezing what you need to check....Make sure its getting power....Make sure compressor starts...if not could be a few things wrong ...bad defrost timer, stuck in defrost mode....bad compressor start relay..condenser fan not running, this is under refrigerator next to compressor..bad compressor ..or bad thermostat...call serviceman it is cheaper to have it fixed than replaced unless compressor is bad

A refrigerator and freezer can last up to 20-25 years (or longer), but some fail after just 5 years (just when the warranty expires). I had one that was over 20 years old. On two others, the compressors failed after 5 and 6 years.
Sorry for the bad news!

when was the last time that you cleaned the cooling coils under it? that should be done at least once a year, more often if you have pets. also, on the inside of the freezer, do you have the vents blocked with items? does the door light go out when you push the switch in? most of the time a fridge will run until it just gets too clogged with dust and hair and then it just can't cool enough. check your owners manual for how to remove the grille on the bottom of the front of your fridge. then use a brush, you can get them at the hardware store, and brush out any dust. next use your vacuum cleaner to suck it up, when you have picked up all that you can, reverse the hose and blow out the coils to get the rest out. a shop vac works best, but your house vac will do. if you've never done this, there's your problem. good luck, hope this helps.

you should check and make sure its on and theres nothing on top of it or around the fan... like if its backed up against the wall to close or the fridge is to close... then make sure theres nothing keeping the door open, even a little bit... usually there are settings on the refrigerator and the freezer, you should check those too... after that, i would either get it fixed or buy a new one depending on the prices of each option

Todays refrigerators are only warranted to 5-10 years now. In the 'good old days' they lasted up to 25+. You need a repairman if you want to keep this one. Call SEARS, they repair all brands.
