My husband and I are trying to get pregnant. I am usually very on time, 28 day cycle. I am now 14 days late but two pregnancy tests have come back negative. Is it possible for the urine tests not to be accurate on some people? I am going for a blood test later this week but my OB/GYN office doesn't seem to be as concerned as I am. Any suggestions? Personal stories?

It's possible a home test to show a false negative, or a false positive. Good job getting a blood test!

When was the last time you tested? It is not unusual for some women to get a negative test result even if they are PG. Blood test are the most accurate so until you can get to your dr I would test again using a name brand test like First response early response with your first morning urine.

My pregnancy test changed to positive on the first day of my missed period in less than a minute. But every one is different. Sometimes it takes longer for the hormone to be indicated.
I heard stress can make your period late. But just recently I found out that stress can make it stop right in the middle of your flow! once my personal issue became resolved it started right were it left off. Have your husband give you a relaxing massage.
I can suggest that the two of you ENJOY the moment of togetherness as much as you can. (don't think of it as making a baby, unless that turns you on.lol)
My 3 weren't planned. but still a blessing.

Make sure that your tests aren't expired. That could have a false test result. Also, not to get your hopes down, but the stress of tryng to conceive can cause missed periods. I hope you get the results you want! Don't stress it too much if you are not pregnant though...just have fun trying somemore!

Also...try taking your urine test first thing in the morning..that will usually give better results!

their is a reason why the box only says 99.9% accurate!

those pee on test detect a hormone that is present when MOST people get pregnant. a VERY small percentage of people don't get this. for those people, they will always test negatory. Only a blood test is more accurate.

go get the test, then see what the doc. suggest if you are not(you are most likely not)

I tested negative for a week, but others test negative for longer. Some people just dont produce the hormone in there urine as much as other woemn. Good lucka dn I hope you get what you want!

IF YOU HAVE BEEN TO THE DOC. AND THERE NOT AS CONCERNED GO TO THE ER AND TELL THEM WHATS HAPPENING AND THEY CAN HELP YOU FROM THERE ON. YOU WILL FIND A FASTER RESPONSE THERE. THEN WAITING AROUND.
