If you have an anti-virus installed, it should automatically scan the file while your downloading it. If you want to be sure though, navigate to your download folder, right click on the file and chose to scan it.

well ... most of the time ...
the problem is places like limewrie are hangouts for script kiddies testing their latest stuff .. so if theres no definition released for the virus then it may get you .... its best to look at what ur downloading and make sure the size and type of file looks legit as well as having a normal amount of sharers on it ..

yes and you must i think..as i scan every files after downloading those manually before openihg those for setup or application.

Download linux burn it to a disk then format your hard drive and install. No more viruses or spyware ever
