With the exception of the last 2 terms, this looks like a geometric sequence with a ratio, or r value of 1/2.

The formula for the sum of a decreasing geometric sequence is the first term (a1) / (1 - r). This would give you
(1/3)/ (1 - 1/2) or 2/3.

if its a series you can see that the bottom numbers double . if in mathematical terms, the fraction is decreasing by multiplies of 2.

half of 1/3 is 1/6 and half of 1/6 is 1/12 and so on. then after 1/48 it doubles the top number to 2 so half of 96 really means multiple 96 by 2 because that seems to make sense and you should have. 2/196. hopefully I helped.

If the top of the fractions hadn't changed to 2 beginning with 2/96, the total would have been (1/3)/[1 - 1/2] = 2/3. You don't show enough of the series to know if the top changes again, how soon, or to what.
