It would make no difference whatsoever.

Bush already does not respect Congress, and thinks he can ignore Congress any time he feels like it. A failed impeachment, or even a successful censure, would only reinforce his attitude that he is above the law.

There are things I would like to see him impeached for. But given his day "in court" they could show the WMDs were in Iraq but Saddam didn't leave them gift wrapped for our news reporters embedded with the troops to find, that was not a lie. Nor is the transferral of these illicit materials and technology to Iran and Syria, where if war breaks out, you can expect to see the "proof". The failure to give the USA and it's citizens precedence over Mexico, the failure to enforce existing immigration law or prosecute drug smugglers, the pandering to Halliburton, these are inexcusable acts. Making the mistake of seeing a "good side" in Iraq was sheer stupidity or questionable allegiance to the Saudis. If Bush was simply impeached or censured it would just be a big media show, waste of money, and lack of REAL progress on important issues (like who tried poisoning all our pets and why, of the ballooning defecit/national debt, coming social security collapse, etc.) and Cheney would only take over if Bush were removed, being nearly impossible and unprecedented. It's all a big show for the 2008 elections. I hope by then that 1. reps get their act together and put up a decent candidate and 2. people take a good look at what dems promised and what they did--$900 billion in new spending? I belong to the generation that's getting the bill for all this bull. Impeach them all by voting out all incumbants EVERY election until they get a clue.

Cheney is next up. Unless his pace maker runs out of battery. And the speaker Pelosi is next. That'll be something. And Clinton? Back to back woman presidents? May be change White House to Pink House.

But there's really no point of dragging out that kind of process when they got their hands full with bunch of other problems.

Remember that point of impeachment was that whole WMD intel thing. If Bush gets impeached he take the blame and others involved might be off the hook.

Ok, I'll try to remain civil and calm.

Why would you impeach him? He hasnt done anything that is an impeachable offense. He hasnt done everything perfect, but by god it take a hell of a man to stand in the face of critisism and what he thinks to be his best choice. No one will ever make everyone happy all the time. I think that bush had made mistakes, but i respect him as the president, and unless he does something illeagl to prove himself unworth, he will remian the President.

I am afraid he would. Maybe that's why they haven't started the articles of impeachment yet. We would go from bad to worse.
