My boyfriend and I had sex for the first time, and I was a virgin. I was expecting it to hurt a lot (with maybe a little bit of bleeding), but it didn't hurt at all. What could be the reasons for that?

If he properly prepared you before hand with foreplay and you were sufficiently lubricated, that could be the reason it did not hurt. A lot of girls don't have a hymen long before they first have sexual intercourse. It could have been stretched in many ways and just consider yourself lucky that you did not have any pain. That is a good thing. Enjoy and be safe.

There's a few reasons that this may have happened.

Maybe your partner was sensitive to this being your first time and did not push hard.

Maybe your hymen might have been broken by an accident or an activity earlier in your life.

Maybe you were relaxed and did not tense up

I'm pleased that it didn't hurt you at all and that it was a pleasurable experience

People are different, they experience pain different. And not all people bleed if their hymen is already broken - using tampons can be one reason. And I think when people say it hurts the first time- they mean it was uncomfortable- not painful.

your hymen may have been broken or you may have been born without one, or the guy could have had a small tool, but actually MOST womens first time isn't painfull, it's just that it's only the painful stories that you hear about, remember and pass on

You may have lost your hymen accidentally during childhood . Or, it may have been very thin. In either case, it is nothing to worry about.
