Are you talking about Dan Akroyd? Not sure about Live Aid, but he and Tom Green hosted Live 8 (July 2nd, 2005) and joined in with 'Rockin In The Free World' and 'O Canada'

He did sing with John Belushi as a Blues Brother but was more well known for his harp playing
