That book is awesome. I can't believe how close we are to that kind of civilation. I suggest afterwards you go to
www.gradesavers.com or
www.sparknotes.com

to find the deeper meaning of the books. They are very informative and make you really appreciate the deeper meaning of the book. A great quick read!!

The culture wars being what they have been since 2000, it's not implausible at all. Just look at how the government has become more agressive about enforcing its own standard of "decency" to the point where stations are nervous about airing the four-letter words of "Saving Private Ryan" among others. And with President Bush and the GOPsters so closely aligned with the fervent religious Right, it's only a matter of time before they try to enforce their own standards of morality upon everyone, even if they have to redraw the Constitution and stifle any form of dissent and criticism. Again, not implausible in the least!

haha it was a nice book, dystopian future where the government is in control of what you learn and read, it was written like 40 years ago or something but much is becomming true, like No Child Left Behind signed by bush and Standardized Testing required by state governments. Their REAL intentions r to make school kids dumber, not the other way around. I mean, take away school funding when the scores are low? COMMON HAVE SOME COMMON SENSE. ITS THE DUMB PPL WE SHOULD BE HELPING, NOT SPOILING THE SMART ONCES, but in the end, once all the public schools have been closed because of funding( they expect use to top our scores from last year, we can only do that up to a certain point-how do u top 100% on a MULTIPLE CHOICE TEST-no wonder y ppl r so stupid in college) We would have to go to private schools but most ppl will be so poor(Thats right america, we are losing the middle class) we cant afford and ppl will be for ever dumb adn the republicans who planned this will be in power, with huge *** tv screens on all sides of the door, firemen who burn books, mechanized pets who have drugs in them that can kill ppl, A ******* HUGE *** ARMY READY TO TAKE OVER THE WORLD FOR STUPID IMPERIALIST REASONS(iraq...i suspect they are attacking canada in the book) and stupid incompitent ppl who cant even vote correctly and who are covering it all with their "seashells"(earbuds) and their huge *** tvs spreading propaganda **** saying you r happy and ****. **** dude its a dystopia and saddly its kinda true if u look around.

I read the book about 10 years ago and saw the movie about 20 years ago and I loved both!

And it is happening everyday all around the world, we just don't hear about it!
