confident, Kobe carried a set of gamers that arent even interior the NBA anymore to the playoffs and almost upset the 2nd seed Suns.. the rationalization the Lakers are sucking is the coach and injuries. D'Antoni's offense is in accordance with 3 rules and velocity, Lakers have undesirable shooters and are very previous, he would not pontificate any protection the two.. If the Lakers lost via 10 and the score is 124-114, D'Antoni might say we choose extra suitable offense. The Lakers are an extremely the excellent option heavy group, whilst their stars bypass down, they're going to lose..

They actually did an entire segment of a show on ESPN about this. When he came to the Lakers, the number 24 was taken, but he was a big fan of Mike D'Antoni's play in Europe. D'Antoni's jersey number was 8. Kobe even admitted it was because D'Antoni was one of his favorite players. I don't know why it took him so long to switch his jersey either, but he decided that he wanted his old HS numbers now. Maybe he's mad at D'Antoni and the Suns for last year's playoffs, but I doubt it. I think he could have kept with the #8 jersey for the rest of his career, but he realized that switching his jersey number would help out his jersey sales. Some real reasons backed up by economics.

True fact, it was his highschool jersey number. When he came to the lakers, 24 was already taken so he picked 8. But i dunno who had 24 and when they left or why he waited so long to change but yea there ya go
