i have tried 3 different pills over the past 3 and a half years: cilest, diannette and now microgynon which seems to be the worst of all. im starting to think its just a very bad idea to play god with my hormones, and everyone seems to have some kind of side effect with the one they take.

i should also add that when i say mood swings i really mean day to day depression, at times severe. amongst other side effects.

A diaphragm is great! No hormones to worry about. It's very effective if used correctly. Check with your doctor. I used one for many years successfully. Good luck!

Have you thought of just changing the bc pill you're taking? Maybe a low dose hormone like Ortho Tri-Cyclen Lo? Or maybe a type with a completely different type of hormone...progestrin vs estrogen? The pill can cause mood swings, but coming off the pill may also cause mood swings and irregular periods.
Sorry, I don't have any info on diaphragms, they don't appeal to me, I think they are disgusting, lol...but just my own personal opinion.
Good luck!

The Diaphram is a pain to use as you have to put it in just before sex and with messy spermicide, I have a Mirena Coil fitted which is great and last 5 years if I want kit to . Try asking the nurse at family planning I found them much more helpful than my GP

suggest to try the different type of bc pills. so many different types are out there or even the patches. I had no problem with the bc pills. not too much of moon swings either. it makes the period short and easy to handle. once you are off the bc pills, it would take 6 to 8 months to get back to the cycle again. very troublesome.

those sound like especially basic issues. The pill particularly messes including your hormones. it ought to take a on an identical time as to your physique to re-alter after such time on the pill. i might think of it particularly is such as giving beginning. that may cut back to rubble your hormones for as much as a year.

There are more then just diaphrams and pills. Consult your doctor to see what your options are!
I would also check with the doctor about moonswings. I know someone who was on the pill because it helped with her moonswings. The pill actually helped her maintain some composer while she was on her period.

They can be messy since what goes in, mixes with the jelly and then drips back out.
I always rubbed agains them and it would ulcerate the head of my johnson.
