She thinks we are going to be romantically inclined or something! HELLO- he's gay? Yeah, I tried pointing that out to her but she doesn't seem to get that idea. Do people usually do this in college and it is weird?

No offense to your mom but that sounds really stupid. Are you sure it's not that she has a problem with him being gay? It doesn't make any sense for her to think something sexual would happen between you two if she knows he's gay. I've known lots of girls who've roomed with gay men, in college and otherwise, and everything was fine.

That sounds like fun! I want to board with a gay guy. I hope that your mom sees eye to eye eventually. I'm sure she is just freaking out that you are moving away from her. Maybe she is getting empty nest syndrome and knows she will miss you. She is taking this emotional stress out through another channel-via arguing with you that you are going to sleep with a gay guy. As if he would wake up in the middle of the night and "forget" you were a lady.

LOL

Since you're an adult, your mother's silliness should not be an issue you with you.

There is nothing weird about having a roommate in college. Sometimes it's a guy and a girl, sometimes it's two guys, and sometimes it's two girls. Both, one, or none in each equation could be gay.

Actually, your life as a heterosexual (I'm assuming) female will not be complete until you have a close, gay, male friend. You will only benefit.

She needs more confidence in your self control. Nothing in this world is weird, just do what's convenient as long as it doesn't hurt anybody else or yourself.

If you don't mind, why not? Just don't go into a snit when "he" hangs his nylons all over the shower curtain rod.

I don't think it is any of your mom's business.
