First, if you take a closer look, it's not "the whole world". It's more like "the whole Islamic world" and "the whole Europe", with some (but definitely not all!) Christians outside Europe in addition (Europeans are almost exclusively Christians).

The hatred towards Israel is a politically correct packaging for hatred towards Jews. There are several reasons Muslims and some Christians hate the Jews.

1. Religious: Both Christianity and Islam are offshots of Judaism, established as an attempt to supersede it. Most Muslims and some Christians are mad that it didn't work out and would like to see Jews disappear.

2. Religious-Territorial: Muslims regard the Land of Israel as the Holy Land given to them by Allah and cannot accept a non-Muslim rule in it, especially not by "dhimmis". Christians see the Land of Israel as a cradle of Christianity and at least some would like to see it ruled by Christians. They know it's not realistic, but, since a small minority of Arabs in the Land of Israel are Christians, Arab rule seems to them a lesser evil.

3. Cultural envy: For Muslims, Jews and Israel are exactly the opposite of their society: open, democratic, free, educated, tolerant, viable, with a sense of humor, economically successful etc. Also for Europeans: it's a society that invented moral norms, the rule of law, freedom from slavery, equality between people... and all that almost 4000 years ago. Western Europe achieved it (thanks to American help) 60 years ago, and Eastern less than 20 years ago.

4. Guilt complex: Europeans have treated the Jews terribly for almost 2000 years, the Holocaust being only the culmination of a continuous persecution, expulsion, and torture. By making the Jews look bad, they hope their persecution would look at least a bit justified. Something along the lines: "Well, Hitler must have had his reasons, look how bad the Jews are".

5. Pure material greed and envy: If you are lazy and poor, but strong, the easiest way to get rich is to rob someone who has more than you (not necessarily being rich!), but weak. That's what European kings kept doing for centuries with the Jews and, by the way, what both Hitler and the Communists did in the last century. They first claimed that the Jews were rich (which was in most cases not true: They were only educated and rational enough to manage their assets well), only to rob and kill them for that.

6. Simple xenophobia: Having been driven off of their land by the Romans, the Jews were treated (and hated) as foreigners almost everywhere in the world. This tradition is still alive, not only concerning the Jews.

There are a number of reasons.
(These are OPINION not fact)

Jews often have business prowess and this make others jealous.

Jews have been used by many dictators as a "Scapegoat" so that people will focus their anger towards Jews and not the dictator. A lot of that propaganda is still in the worlds "psyche"

Jews are Gods "chosen people" and this makes problems for them.

Jews are "the other" they are not Muslim and they are not Christian.

Jews are blamed for the killing of Christ (which is ridiculous)

Jews have kicked butt in the Middle East since the dawn of time. Once a very warlike people. This angers Muslims

Jews brought western Ideas and Ideals when they settled Israel. (The fact that Israeli women serve in the armed forces is an affront to Muslims)

I don't hate them, but the actions of the state do make people angry. They are in so many ways a mirror image of US in terms of foreign policy, seen as aggressors and blatantly self interested. The military reprisals seem short sighted and overdone. The efforts with Palestinians are tantamount to genocide, it is systematic and calculated to bring suffering. I know they keep firing rockets and blowing people up, and i know dialogue doesn't seem to get through, but the big freaken wall, bulldozers and restriction to basic services is fuelling the fire. And there is very little people can say about any of this openly without being called anti-semitic, which isn't true. There is enough information available on the actions of governments, UN vetoes, funding deals, etc, for people to have an opinion based on politics, not sentiment. Having said all this, it may seem like i do not like israel or the Jewish people but that is absolutely not a fact. I just oppose some policies. I similarly oppose many policies of my own government. Peace.

we first hear about it when hitler declared Jews as the source for all of Germany's problems (he says they signed the treaty of versailles, which severely weaked germany). he had a thing with jews ever since he wanted to b an artist and a jewish art school didn't let him in=]. also, during the HOlocaust, a ton of jews wanted to escape. many countries didn't let too many in b/c they didn't want their citizens to hate them too. (the jews tend to be successful and ppl say they steal jobs). finally, after the war, the allies felt sooooo sry for them that they gave em their own country (israel). but then, everyone was furious because that was their land in the first place (was it Jordan or Egypt?). so yeah, it goes on today... long after hitler died

Scriptures say that gave Israel to be their Home for all time. It started with Moses and will end with Jesus in the true Temple built by Solomon according to God's will. Now explain that to a far-left Liberal, you will sound like a nut case. I get newsletters daily from several sources in Jerusalem. They dislike the Jew, as they dislike the Gentile that believes. We are joined at the hip, my friend. ....... God Bless !!

jews have been chased and put in ghettos for centuries. my grandparents came to chile from what is now ukraine and lithuania. id say the only people jews have learnt to trust are jews. that said, i think people see jews as too closed a community, unsociable perhaps... they dont seem to realise thats their shield after being persecuted so much for so long.

Still high enough on hubris to believe the Bush Regime is righteous in passing judgment and proclaiming that Iraq, Iran, and North Korea form an "Axis of Evil"? While you are grabbing stones to cast at this trio for their deplorable records on human rights, consider the acts of barbarism, terrorism, and deceit the United States has committed against the first member of the so-called "Axis" over the last two decades. Since Reagan swaggered into office, America has been committing genocide against the Iraqi people in multiple ways. Bear in mind that these "evil" Iraqis never attacked the United States or its citizens. Their crime? Ostensibly it was that their tyrannical leader, Saddam Hussein, needed to be deposed, they possessed weapons of mass destruction, they were a threat to the United States, and eventually were complicit in 9/11. But for those who live in reality, the Iraqis’ true "sins" were possessing vast quantities of oil, daring to sell their oil for Euros instead of the almighty Dollar, and posing a "threat" to poor little Israel, a nation bristling with military firepower and enjoying the unflinching support of the most powerful military in the history of humanity.

As an aside, if the “infinitely benevolent” United States bore the responsibility of removing Hussein to “liberate the Iraqis”, a question naturally arises. Which nation will liberate the world from Bush and his team of despicable Neocons?

I don't. Hitler galvanized his populace and created an imaginary enemy for them to focus their fears and anxieties on. Much like the Iraq war.

Israeli "freedom fighters' used terrorism to drive the British soldiers out of the land they now call Israel.

They oppress their neighbor in retaliation against a rogue element of terrorist. This is the State of Israel. The citizens just want to live in peace. People more than likely hate their policies, not the individuals who live their. Much like the sentiment towards the US today.

Wow the whole world huh? Can I borrow this awesome machine you have that instantly polls everyone in the world without their knowledge? I'd like it to ask the whole world when people are going to stop trying to convince others that "the whole world" or "everyone" said or thinks something.
