First off you assume being Proud is a good thing. Pride is generaly the root of all evil. People are proud and want to be better than others.

As far as if it is racism it depends intirely if you assume that all white people are the same. And if you treat people as if they are bad because they are white, than yes, you are racist.

I am a white American, But I am far from a "Normal" white person. I am also Muslim. I also happen to be of Russian ancestry. As a kid I was stereo typed as the neighborhood "commie". As an Adult I am stereo typed as a terrorist. Yet I am neither.

There are good and bad in all people. It is better to look at each person one at a time.

Pride is an illness. It make us seek to degrade others, to feel as though we are superior to others. When we all manage to understand we are just nothing, But by Gods grace we have been given soooo much. We can start to make ourselves better instead of tearing others down.

No.

Not being proud can be a good thing.

Me? I am overly proud of my race, but only in one way. I've weeded out the rest of the bias.

Now being ashamed is slightly different.

It's okay to be ashamed of what other people of the human race have done, but to be ashamed that there happen to be bad white people?
Don't worry everyone feels that somewhat of their own race, but like someone else said, it's a dumb thing to do. It's a silly notion.

I don't consider it racism per se, but it has that quality. Why would you be ashamed of the entire white race, when not all white people are bad????There are good and bad in all races and religions...you can't judge all by a few. You just try and make sure you aren't one of those few, and that's all you can do.

It may not be racist, but it can be painful to you. Please try not to stress on all the bad stuff (and I know there are alot).

Find good things about your heritage and celebrate it :) I am not sure what "white race" you are referring yourself. But you guys are kinda responsible for the Gutenberg press and the whole industrial evolution, right? What about the woman suffrage, Human Right advocates and all the adoption agencies? Alot of little girls in my country will have no chance if it's not for kind-hearted, altruistic people like the ones in your race....

So, thank you for the push in literacy, technology (can you imagine no yahoo?) and ampathy, to say the least.

Hope I cheer you up some. I am sure if you look in the mirror hard enough, you'll find tons of things you like about yourself and your culture.

Not being proud of someones race isn't racism. It's just your opinion. If you hated your race and everything about it then i guess that would be racism.

It is okay to not be proud of things that people of your race did in the past but you should embrace who you are. Also, it is racial profiling to label all white people as racist. Don't let a few bad apples ruin the bunch.

No. Racism is imposing a different set of rules on people of another race because you have the power, financial, political or military, to make it so.

The hardship comes from one particular racist, Ben Klassen. Mr. Klassen set up a company, the international Church of the author, which grew to become into predicated on the placement that white peeople might desire to do what's needed to maintain their whiteness, and be proud of their whiteness....and as a corollary, might desire to stomp on all and sundry who disrupts the purity of the white race. Ooops. you notice the priority, precise? think of of it this variety. i'm of Irish descent. i'm justifiably pleased with my celtic history, yet I frankly despise the Brits, who're a muddled amalgam of individuals who've neither delight of history nor wish of prideworthy descendants. The very concept that "us" "white individuals" might desire to stick mutually is cow poop inasmuch as white individuals have been killing one yet another a techniques longer than they have been attentive to different individuals who might desire to be properly worth slaughtering. Pan-whitism has no raison d'etre previous status as a colorable excuse for racism. i do no longer provide a fig for the white race, because of fact in my opinion, there is not any such element (purely as there is not any black race, no yellow race, no crimson race).

I am proud of my heritage (Italian/Jewish)...just because I have the same skin color (almost, anyways) as people like you doesn't mean I have to be ashamed of what your people did (assuming you are a WASP)....I call myself white and everything, but I can't stand when some hurb like you thinks I should share your guilt

Naw, but hating your own race is autoracism. People want to define race as a matter of identity and not actual genetic heritage. You could totally identify with another race and hate your own. I've seen it on Jerry Springer I think.
