Humm. I use to be told that as a child and just accepted that it was a treat that meant I better straighten up and not sass back. I wonder what P's stand for. Q's probably are questions but not sure of that either. I'll go to ASK.com and see it I get an answer. If I do I'll get back with you.

Pints and quarts.
Bartenders used to ask patrons to mind their p's and q's when their bar tab was getting high and also when they were getting a little wasted.
