Hi Starcraft,
I've read all of the answers you've gotten thus far, and partially agree with only parts of them. In my opinion, these are Hitler's greatest mistakes.
1. Hitler's scientific advisors early on urged him to develop the atom bomb. And while Hitler threw a little money at the problem early on, he never committed the resources necessary to build the bomb. He was never convinced of it's ultimate efficacy. Big Mistake.
2. He allowed the British Army to be evacuated at Dunkerque. He allowed the Luftwaffe to wipe it out by air, even though his generals argued for a ground assault. The Lutwaffe wasn't prepared for this job, and the army was evacuated.
3. He invaded the Soviet Union. He knew that Germany's defeat in WW I grew out of fighting a two front war; but he believed two foolish things: that the British would never be an effective fighting force against him, and that he could deliver a swift knockout blow to the Soviet Union. HUGE mistake.
4. He declared war on the USA. Hitler's treaty with the Japanese did not require him to declare war on the US, but he did it anyway. This brought all of the American manpower and materiel into the European theater, and guaranteed Hitler's loss.
These were his biggest mistakes.

1. The Battle of Britain - lost a lot of aircraft and then gave up the mission there and where the aircraft could have been put more and better use in North Africa and the siege in the USSR
2. Delayed the start of Operation Barbarossa because he saved Mussolini's embarassment as Italy struggled to take Greece and Crete. There was a loss of a valuable month here and possibly the Russians may not have survived .The delay would be costly as Germany got within 10-15 miles of Moscow the day Japan attacked Pearl Harbor. The Germans were not to get any closer the rest of the war.
3.He would not stop trying to go forward when he could have regrouped and his losses would have been far less in the USSR.The Russians let him get into Stalingrad and forced the Germans into house for house battle and eventually surrounding the 6th Army thus sealing their fate. The winters were harsh on the Germans for they believed that the Russians would fold up like a tent and went unproperly clothed for the Russian winters.
4.Delayed when all was lost in North Africa and in this case lost valuable men and equipment which could have come in valuable later at Normandy.
5.Forsook advice from his leading generals on D-Day and decided to establish his major defenses at Calais and not Normandy. The bolstering of his troops there could have delayed and even hampered the Allies chances there.
6. Loss of manpower , armaments and resources in genocidal cleansing where he could have used all of these things in the war against the Allies and prompted paossibly a different and more drawn out prespective thus buying valuable time to recuperate from losses due to Allied aircraft.

I'll will answer this the best I can. Well the reason why Adolf Hitler failed in world war 2 was due to his beliefs. Once the German army occompanied by the S.S. conquered France, Czechaslovakia, Poland, and other small nations by France. They believed they were invincible. They're strategy and tactics seemed far superior against these nations from the natzi generals and Adolf Hitler himself. Instead of assuring a strong alliance with the Soviet Union, Adolf Hitler just simply wanted to conquer the U.S.S.R. (Operation Barbarosa).
If Adolf Hitler kept a strong alliance with the Soviet Union he probably would have been able to conquer the United Kingdom. Don't get me wrong the British would have put up one hell of a fight, but without the aid from the United States and Canada, Great Britian would have fell to the powers of the Axis.
well, there were probably many more reasons why he failed. All it would have taken to lose in world war 2 would have been one stupid decision.

One of the biggest mistakes "Der Fuehrer" made was thinking that he, a former corporal in the First World War, was in a position to lead Germany as the Commander-In-Chief of all the German armed forces. The other mistake that he made was fighting a war on two fronts - it seems he didn't learn much from the First World War. The last, and most telling mistake was - taking away the rights and freedoms from his own people, and the peoples he conquered.

Unlike the Allied forces, Hitler's Germany never cooperated with the Japanese or the Italians, thus losing the war. Once he captured the coveted Balkan area, he could've wandered into Turkey and Egypt and captured those but he changed his mind and tried to take Russia.
And we all know what happened when Napoleon tried to do that.

I'd actually say that it was the human impact that he had, where he could've bettered lives he destroyed them. Had he built up after conquering it might've been different. The atrocities got him a lot of bad press, in the days when press wasn't as prevalent as today, but it still had a big impact.
