Our city ordinances do not allow for burning, so that's out. I know Roundup will do it if enough is used, but that can get pricey real quick!

I don't care what I use to kill it, as long as it stays gone. If whatever I use prevents new vegetation (in any form) from growing there for years to come, all the better. Someone had suggested pouring gas on the ground, but that's a fire hazard. Not going there.

You could cover it...plastic, old carpet...anything which will keep the light out. Strim it down flat first and then cover.
