Why do people hate slugs, but love snails, is it because slugs are homeless?

Yeah--- and the 'got any spare change' thing gets annoying.
Plus those teeny tiny shopping carts filled with crap--

I am not really a fan of either. But snails will help keep your fish tank clean.
