I was using Pro-Activ for 2 years and it cleared my skin a great deal but only to a certain point - not completely. It was best for reducing the redness.
I have now started using Neutrogena Oil-Free daily scrub and Neutrogena soap bar. And these are working well so far.
I have heard that you need products with Glycerin & Salicylic Acid in them.
Hope this helps.

Here are several ways to prevent and rid yourself of acne:
1. check your diet. What goes into the body comes out onto the skin. Like drinking lots of caffeine will cause you to get sun burn easier. If you are eating alot of fatty foods, and processed foods, that will come out on your skin as you sweat. The fats cause your pores to clog and thus you get acne as your body reacts to what you are eating. Sugar does the same thing, clogs the pores.
2. clean your face with simple soaps, such as Doctor Bronner's.
3. after you wash your face balance the chemistry of your skin by using a toner. generally something that has a vinegar base. check out the Burts Bee's web site.
4. put a moisturizer on your face after. something without wax in it as this will clog your pores. Again check out Burts Bee's web site, or try Lubriderm.
5. drink plenty of water!
6. Exercise!
7. Be sure to wash your face, not scrub it. That will cause your body to produce more oils. Good Luck!

Okay everyone is saying Proactive, which is a REALLY good product, but at times can be pricey so I found this thing called Acne Free and it works soooooooo good! Of course everyone has diffrent skin so if something works for one person you never know if it'll work for another, but anyways you can find it at any Target or Wal*Mart for $18.00. And it really did work in 3 days for me! I use it every morning and night now!

I use a very mild soap and moisturizer. The stronger ones can irritate your skin and make it worse. Try Cetaphil or CeraV. Wash every morning and night - without fail.

Works for me, but my breakouts aren't super-terrible.

Proactive works on just about everybody.. I would try that. If you are looking for a cheaper solution I would try Clearasil Ultra.. I like it so far. I had to stop using Proactive because We can't afford it right now.

Scrubbing too much sometimes makes the problem harder to solve. use PROACTIVE, I used it myself and its the best product. Go to www.proactiv-us.com

Move to a hot, sunny, desert climate. Arizona or New Mexico works well.
