I am seriously thinking about withdrawing from my history class now since I don't know if I can come out of that class with a C or higher. With my dream of going to medical school, should I drop the class so it won't effect my GPA? Will dropping a class look bad to the admission counselors at a medical school?

Drop the class. The GPA is more important than the W listed on the transcript. As long as you haven't dropped classes each semester a withdrawal or two on a transcript with a stellar GPA won't be a detriment.
Good luck.

I went to nursing school and did pretty well along the way accept for one class anatomy 2, when I knew it was a chance of not passing I dropped the class and prepared myself to retake the class. Did not affect my GPA but a grade below a C would have. When I went on to further my education, the college was only interested in my grades not my withdrawals.

I would recommend dropping it, and working on improving your grades in your other classes. It will not look "bad"; that is what the withdrawal option is for, among other things. This is making a good use of this option, and a good decision.

I'd say drop it, go have a party, and afterwards promise yourself that it won't happen again. A grade of even a 'C' will really hurt your GPA. As long as getting a W doesn't become a habit, it should not affect you negatively.
