1. An Angel and a betta might not be the best tank mates but shouldn't fight too much either. Until the angel gets about adult size that is. Then you might lose the betta.

2. A betta and a ram should be fine together as long as they have a little room and the ram has a place to call home (hiding places)

3. yes, the pictus really does get that big.

4. Nope, they wouldn't do well in brackish at all

1. Angelfish are cichlids, and cichlids can be nippy and aggressive. I wouldn't keep them with a betta, especially if the angels are a breeding pair.

2. Personally, I wouldn't. In my experience with Rams, they can be calm and collected, they can also be vicious little buggers, my brother's German Blue has wiped out 10 neon tetras and 3 other German Blues in the year my brother has had him. Bettas and tankmates can be a mixed bag, some bettas are fine with tankmates and just go about their business, other bettas will get stressed out having to share their tank space, and may also nip back at other fish.

3. what kind of pictus? the Leiarius pictus for example gets to 24" whereas the Pimelodus pictus gets to only 6" in captivity, but can get to 12" in the wild.

4. i believe otos are salt intolerant, so no they cannot live in brackish water.
