A sure fire way to stop the coughing as long as she doesn't mind a little alcohol - hot tea with a shot of scotch whiskey. It works wonders.

Everyone has it down!
They are right, honey, ginger, and lemon all help. They work well together, too. Honey coats the throat, which soothes it. Ginger calms the inflamation and itching. Lemon is antiseptic and goes after those nasty little germs making her cough. Try them with warm chamomile tea, avaliable at the grocery. Add a tablespoon of honey, a pinch of ginger, and a teaspoon of lemon juice in a cup of tea several times a day. This should calm the cough.

If it goes on for a couple of weeks, gets much worse, or is accompanied by trouble breathing, take her to the doctor immediately.

Also- cut out any smoking.
Good luck!
