First off, you want a topic that isn't lame and one that is easily researchable. To stand out you need to pick a topic that has influence the most people for the longest amount of time. Frankly, life went on for a long time without mother teresa, walt disney and ben franklin. Jesus would be interesting but thaqt's far too controversial and schools these days are leaning twoards leaving religion seperate. A great topic would be someone from the Roman Empire. Not only were they a great foundation for life today, they were amongs the first to develop most of the concepts we take for granted like democracy, philophasy, organized milatary but also common luxuries like running water and entertainment. You have hundreds of people to pick from.. I'd take Julius Cesar or a philsopher.
