i workout for about an hour to a hour and a half. im 257 pounds, so i'm trying to lose weight. i usually workout at about 40, what ever that means- the speed. it usually keeps me moving pretty fast- say power walking speed and i have intervals of jogging/running. but i'm kinda getting board of looking at my wall, sure i have my ipod blasting but i'm in this secluded room and i get kinda zoned out. i just need something to keep me going, suggestions?

What I find helps me is (if your treadmill is computerized) to run little varied programs instead of one long one. I set a program for 5 or 10 minutes, then change it to something different. It seems to go much faster that way and I get less bored. I have also made playlists to suit those times, and I have varied the rhythms of the songs to provide hard, medium or softer workouts. I use the stepper and the bike the same way. Lots of short increments...works for me.

Oh my goodness...I saw this question and I thought (because of some of the other fake questions I'd seen ;-) that you were talking about a pet hamster's treadmill workout on a wheel! I take it there is not a TV in this secluded room? When I use the treadmill it helps me to have something to look at like a T.V. even news program. Doesn't even matter if I'm listening to music instead of the program. I find that time passes much quicker.
