Say I get on a ferry in Seattle and I go to Alaska. (Come back the same way.) Will a person need a passport for that?

To Detail:

For me it isn't hard but for my hubby he can't get one cause of past child support (which is being paid off!) But he still can't get one. We really want to go to Alaska though.

No, as long as you stay on U.S. land you shouldn't need one.

If you stop at any foreign ports along the way you might need one to get on and off the boat.

probably only if you get off on any non-US ports.

you should get a passport anyway. everyone should have one, way too many americans don't have one. I promise, it is really not that hard!
