Aww, first let me tell you, that's awesome! Now, books will tell you 6-8 yeARS, but it depends on how well they are cared for. Females are especially at risk for reproductive probelms then males. I have had 14 guinea pigs over the years and my favorite little guy lived to be 6 1/2 years old. He was always in perfect health. Sometimes no matter what you do, they will succumb to something, but if your 5 year old piggie is acting normal then she has life left in her. One thing that I do know is that if she starts drinking more then normal and losing weight although she'd eating, that means that she's getting old and the end is near, but if she's just acting fine, you still have good years left, I knew a pig once that lived to be 8 years old!

On average guinea pigs live between 5 and 7 years, similar to rabbits. It could be a lot less and a lot more though, it all depends on how well you take care of the little rascal. Sounds like you're doing pretty well so far, good luck :)

it looks like a guinea pig can live from 4-8 years and in some cases 10. It all depends on how well you take care of them and whether they have good health. It's important to make sure especially as they get older that you check for lumps on their skin, or any anus problems (blockages). Also lots of vitamin C rich veggies are always a good idea for piggies. Romaine lettuce, carrots and oranges are my guinea pigs favorites.

My vet told me that 4 yrs is amazing and 5 yrs is a miracle even though pet stores and guinea pig books say 5-8 yrs
although from other answers you received, other people have had differant experiences.

i had a guinea pig live 9 years, and that is after the pet store lady said he was 5 yrs old. Took him to the vet only to find out he was 1 when i got him. They live a long time if you feed them good.

Its different for every guinea pig but prolly 5-7 years. Rodents have short life spans compared to humans.
