Moles and gophers?

Ok so last year I found out by comparing mounds online I had moles. So I bought a trapping system from molepros.com, but just tonight I was watering my yard and I found 4 fresh gopher mounds, cuz they have the c shape mound with that little plug in the middle. So what is the best option to get rid of them. I havent used my mole trap yet cuz I havent had to yet. I need help please.....I just laid down new grass and bought lots of new trees and shrubs yesterday, I dont want it all to die and waste my money on things that dont work right.

I first had moles cuz I had the volcano shaped mounds and bought the mole trapping sytem, then today I found gopher mounds on the other side of my yard (1 acre) which is a c-shape/horseshoe shape mound with a plug in the middle. So now I have both and want to get rid of them both in one whack.

You use the terms moles and gophers in your question. First you have to know what you are dealing with. If it is moles you will have raised tunnel mounds running thru you yard. If it is a gopher you will have one or more mounds fo soil heaped up where the gopher has an entrance.
Gophers require a different trap than moles and are fairly easy to trap.
Moles are extremely hard to trap or kill. The experts say to kill all the grub worms and since that is what moles eat that will drive them elsewhere seeking food. ince you have invested quite a bit in yard improve ment it is probably worth some additional expense to free your yard of pests.
The most likely pest is the mole. I would call a local lawn care company in your area and have them treat your lawn with some kind of mole repellant. A plus with this is they will also fertilize the lawn at the same time.
You could also buy a spreader and treat the yard yourself but a pro can do it better at very little extra cost.

I talked with a guy with a degree from MSU & he said that mole pellets work best...but put them in fresh runs.
I took his advice & got rid of my moles.
