Do you talk to the teacher often? Do you go to the school?
Are you happy with the school itself? What if your child has a problem with another student or the teacher?
Thanks

As a teacher I can tell you that my best students always have parents that are very involved in their child's school. I don't mean you have to be part of the PTA, I understand people don't have time for that, but you should speak to the teacher as much as you need to, whenever you have a question. You can do it through writing notes to each other, you can call or email her/him, or catch her/him for a couple of minutes after school during dismissal. Be active, your child's education is YOUR responsibility more than anyone else's. A teacher teaches and guides students but its the parents responsibility to make sure their child is actually getting it because your child is not the only one in the classroom and teachers cannot give individualized attention so if your child falls behind you have to do something to push them along. If your child has a problem with another student or the teacher?ADVOCATE for your child!!!!

I am and always have been very involved with my kids school. I spend as much as two COMPLETE school days a week on school grounds... I have a good relationship with all of my kids past teachers still. I speak nearly every day with them. I try to be as involved as I can and am happy that I have a hand in what they learn at school. The other children in the classes love having me there, as do my own children. My son has had problems in the past with a teacher that he (nor I ) connected with... Not much we could do about that, but he got past it after he was out of her class.

Emails from the teachers often. I attend most events and am on the parent committee. If my child has a problem with a teacher or student, I talk to them.

My childrens are in 2d and 4th now. In kindergarten I volunteered at some point a week to assist in the class. the better they get the fewer the academics desire weekly volunteers (based on the academics), yet they love help with field journeys, type events, etc. I additionally worked the popcorn Fridays, listening to checking out, Jog-A-Thon days etc. final year I went to paintings at my childrens college because of the fact my youngest replaced into at school all day and that i ought to make funds and paintings their hours. and that i in my view pass over being waiting to be an element of all that. I nevertheless get to perform a little field journeys yet not all of them, however the money is advantageous and the insurance has been a existence saver and lower back I paintings their hours so i'm working yet not loosing time with them. i did not bypass so some distance as PTA because of the fact it does tend to get catty or communities like extreme college childrens, and that i don't have time for that and could on no account be an element of that variety of habit, it particularly is spectacular how many ladies have not out grown that on an identical time as adults. upload: i did not state i replaced right into a SAHM mom until eventually my youngest replaced into in 1st grade. that's how I had the time and adaptableness to assist with however the college had going. working mum and dad shouldn't beat themselves up over the volunteering situation, do what you may and experience good approximately that.

I was very involved in my children's school. I stayed there more than any other parent. After my oldest graduated, we took our 8th grader out to home school through Alfa Omega. I am now even more involved because I am the teacher.
