lol....what a world we are living in.
ever since i live in the area since quiet some time i do know some people which work in the timeshare industry as well as many timeshare-owners which come back here frequently.
for everybody who complains "it`s not worth it":....why do you go on such a presentation in the first place? for the FREE gift.tooo bad there is no such thing as FREE.the sales-reps work on commission only...so of course they will try everything in order to earn your business.to be honest...i would do exact the same thing.maybe you are the only costumer they see that day.personally i would never enter such a presentation....but for one reason only:i know i'm not in the market for such product and i would feel bad to waste somebodies time who tries to make a living just for a "FREE" gift.and by the way: i really do know a lot of happy owners which would never travel in another way again.
it's not for everybody...of course...like everything else.
is it worth it?....you decide.
pardon my spelling....i'm german
greetings from mexico,

Depends on the gift that they hook you with. We got the free pirates cruise once (steak & lobster). Only took us an hour to sit thru their presentation. Had no intention of buying. We have owned a timeshare since the first time we went there. Park Royal (all in-clusive). We have also made some great exchanges to places we probably couldn't have afforded. It is not for everyone, but it was for us. You just need to know how to work the system. I never have problems making reservations or exchanges. Now we are spoiled. Can't stay in a regular hotel room any more. Love the space that we get. 1 or 2 bedrooms. Full kitchens. And no, I am not a time-share salesman.

So NOT worth it!! You waste at least half a day, with incredibly forceful salespeople. Your gift usually sucks! If you want to buy a timeshare, go online and buy from someone that is privately trying to sell it. Do not waste your time in a presentation!
Oh and I have stayed in the Casa Maya, I went there about 8 years ago, at the time, it was a decent hotel with a very calm beachfront. It is on the older side of Cancun though, I think probably more older people go there. If you are looking for some fun and partying, we have also stayed at the Royal Sunset. We had an awesome time there, with an incredible room!

There were six of us that attended the timeshare presentation and it was a big waste of 4 hours of our vacation. They had a guy that greeted us when we first got to the hotel and we assumed that he worked for the hotel when he was actually a time share person. He didn't ask us about the time share until the next day. He told us he got 10 us dollars for every person that sits through it. He was a really nice person so we did it for him, but we would never do it again. When the pushy presentation was over they gave us 1 beach bag and 1 sarong to split six ways. We could have bought both for about 10-15 dollars. Just do what you want, but the prices they told us were outrageous and you could go the rest of your life and not spend the kind of money these cost and they have lots of restrictions. Hope you have a great time

RUN!!! Don't walk.. to get away from these scam artists? Figure out what you paid per hour to vacation in Mexico and then ask if it's worth spending the time listening to these guys. Also....are you REALLY in the market for a time share? If so -- check out the web-sites that trade in them. If not -- skip the presentations and ask Miguel at your hotel to make you another Margarita - delivered to your beach chair. You'll be way ahead!

Got a bottle of Kaluah. I thought it was worth it cause I had some time to kill. It's a boring presentation though, unless you're into that stuff.

Yes, we attended and got a upgrade but it took forever and wasted our day. Not worth it for us.
Good Luck

We got 100 dollars of "hotel money" so, yeah it was worth it. You just have to be firm when it is time to leave or they will drag it out forever as previously noted.
