In some of my dreams, there is always a dark figure, sometimes he is hooded and these dreams feel very real?

It might be worth a try to find a quiet place to ask your guide's name. Get acquainted. There are two things you mentioned: sense it's a male and sense of reality. Both are coming from him. If you really really want to get someone's attention, do you think you might "lose" it and get scary if that's what it would take to get the attention you seek? He needs acknowledgement from you.

my father for years and years kept having the same re-occuring dream about being in the civil war and being stabbed in the chest by a bayonet,he would wake up screaming and sweating gasping for breath....turns out he had sleep apnea he had actually stopped breathing and this is what caused the dream.sometimes dreams are significant and sometimes they are just your brain having a visual breakdown of thoughts feelings events and there is no deeper meaning,sometimes like in my fathers case it was an indication of a serious medical problem.i think you need to search your soul for what is the cause of this dark figure,my feeling is that it is signifying a repressed bad memory,i think you should dig deep and be honest with your self about something that may have happened in your past. or maybe you should just stop eating chocolate before bedtime,lol.
