It's not right. A person's conduct is between them and God unless it harms others and has to be dealt with. This pastor gets off on publically humiliating people, if he or she forces people to do this.

It is wrong. A pastor should have some respect and consideration for them. People should not be humiliated for making mistakes or for doing something that some find objectionable. If a couple has to go through that because of pregnancy before marriage, is the pastor also going to reproach all the other church members every time they make a mistake? Is he going to confess when he makes a mistake, or are people to assume that he is perfect? The humiliation is enough to make some people not go to church to face judgemental eyes. He should show some compassion and ask the couple to meet with him for some sort of counselling.

It is wrong. What you do is between you and God and the Pastor is suppose to be someone who lifts you up and helps you. The church is going to know soon enough that you were pregnant before marriage, but it is not the pastor's place to make you announce it. I would not do it.

While it is wrong for a Pastor to force you to do this, there is some value in being open and honest before God and his people. At some point, people are going to find out, so why not be forthcoming about your moments of weakness?? Ask for forgiveness, start fresh........

No. He just wants you to feel shame. There is no shame in having a baby. Yes being married before having a baby is the best but some times that is not the way it happens. I got pregnant just before my husband went away for six months when he was in the Navy. When we got married I was six months alone. Would I liked to have been married first? YES. But there should be now shame put on that couple.

NO, I think that it is wrong, NObody is perfect and they shouldn't be put out in front in public like that for the sins they commited. God has forgiven them and so can the church!
