my little red truck isnt quite red in some parts. The hood and the roof for example seem to be duller and not as red than the rest of my paint. Im not sure but i think it might have been the tree sap from the trees were i usually park it. Can this be solved with waxing it or will it end up really shiny with two different colors, red and light red?

i own a shop, and if you,ll wash it real good, and use a mild rubbing compound on it,this will help it a lot, then use a real good wax on it,some of what your seeing is probably the clear coat getting dull on it,a good wash and cleaning and waxing should help it a lot, good luck with it,hope this helps.

I had a Lil red truck that faded. I got a hold of a polish called Liquid Glass and followed the instructions. Took out all of the oxidization and fade. It was easier than using a dual action buffer and rubbing compound.

The dull paint is oxidized and needs to be removed by polishing. Use a fine polish like 3M Fine Cut Compound (misleading name as it is not quite as harsh as a compound) to remove the oxidation and then use your favorite wax. Don't use a strong compound because it will remove the oxidized paint but will leave the paint hazy, not a clear shine. If you can find it, Duragloss waxes are excellent and so is Eagle One Nanowax.

I agree with the Liquid Glass, new cars have clear coat wax does nothing for clear coat, you would be better off with a light Polishing compound than wax.

From my own experience.....
Wizard's Turbo Cut or Scratch remover to start and 2-4 coats of Wizard's Superseal. This will give you the evening of the color, remove any minor scratches and discolorations. The Superseal is great for cars with clear coat. It protect as well as shine like no tomorrow. I've used this combo on my bright red GTP Grand Prix and wow what a difference.
I've even used the Turbo Cut on the gel coat on my cabin cruiser boat to remove haze.

Red's a tough color to maintain. For some reason it fades and oxidizes more than others. But a good polishing and waxing will even it out some, if not all.

A good waxing will help to protect it from the suns UV Rays and other elements such as acid rain etc... if it is all shiny the
color differential won't be as noticeable as when it is dull...
