I've gained about thirty pounds in the last four years. Unfortunately, I carry most of the weight in my stomach and thighs. I can't tell if or when I am starting to show. I am 15 weeks pregnant, and I have felt some changes in my abdoment and below my belly button. It feels bloated and when I lay on my stomach, I feel like I am laying on something. I kind of look like I have a pot belly, and I did pre-pregnancy too. I press below my belly button and sometimes it feels hard, and sometimes it doesn't. I hate looking about 6 months pregnant when I am only 4 months pregnant, due to just having extra weight in my belly :( It's kind of embarassing. When will I know that I am showing rather than just still being fat?

I look like the image in the top corner:

But it still feels squishy, and I can kind of suck in still. My first pregnancy, I have absolutely no idea what to be looking for.

Right now you're probably starting to look pregnant. And the belly isn't always hard until you get to about the 8th and 9th month so that's normal. Don't worry yourself one of the beautiful things about being pregnant is you gain weight so it's not you being fat its you being pregnant. You'll start getting really noticeably round around month 7 but for now i'm sure you look fine and enjoy it it's a great experience.

Everyone is so different that there really is no hard and fast formula. Some people show early, some late, some are very round and out front, some grow out narrowly and long. Even on my second, it took almost five to six months for me to show.

Don't worry about whether you're showing like others might, and trust me, the day will come soon enough that you won't be able to suck in at all. I never used to be this way, but now I'd have to say enjoy these changes your body is going through. It really is a special experience. And enjoy not being too big yet, because it does wear on you once you get there. :)

I'm a few pounds overweigth meyself, and I'm 13 weeks, and just this week I started showing. The top and around the bellybutton are harder than they used to be, and if I look sideways in the mirror I can see that the bottom juts out further than it did before. I'm also taking profile pictures each week to see the growth. That will help you see how much is baby and how much is you. Plus, now you're pregnant. pretend it's all baby bump and be proud!
