Tony Stewart cannot skip the 600 because of his contractual obligations to Joe Gibbs Racing and his sponsor Home Depot. He does, however, own a very successful racing operation himself. I think he could decide in the future to retire from Cup racing and use his team to pursue Indy and maybe another IRL championship. I think he could still show the IRL regulars a thing or two.

I know Tony is getting in shape and losing weight, but I'm kinda thinking right now he wouldn't fit inside an Indycar. He's not exactly a little guy. He'd also have to get in a competitive car. Who's he going to drive for? A deal would already have to done. I also don't think he's going to miss being in the 600. Too much to lose. I wish the race schedulers had more time between race like they used to. I like seeing guys try and do the double.

Tony is locked into a contract with Joe Gibbs Racing, so he cannot miss any Nascar races. I do believe that he does have hopes of someday returning to try to win Indy, as does Robby Gordon. I really don't think that he is satisfied with just winning the Brickyard 400. I hope he is also realizing that Nascar is very overated. But, it pays the bills, as does Home Depot. No, wait. I mean that it has payed the bills for the rest of his life !!

I think if it is possible, Tony will run both races. If not, Tony will probably not race in the Indy 500.

Why would he skip a race in the premiere racing circuit to drive in a one race a year circuit? The IRL and pretty much all other racing leagues are second rate compared to NASCAR. Like it or not, it is the top of the profession.

With the short amount of time between the two races, you'd need an F-15 to get from INDY to the NASCAR race.Until one or the other races change their start time,we've seen the last of drivers pulling off both races.BTW "I AM INDY"--T.S. came to NASCAR from the IRL,he fits those cars just fine

Why would you ask that? Tony is a full time Nascar driver. And besides, he is racing for the championship.
